We’re proud to announce the hiring of our new Director of Behavior and Inclusion Supports, a role dedicated to ensuring that every child—regardless of ability, background, or support need—can fully participate in our programs and thrive. This addition reflects our commitment to creating environments where every young person has the tools, encouragement, and safety to grow.

But we know true inclusion takes more than just good intentions—it takes learning, partnership, and action.

That’s why we’ve partnered with MERGE Consulting, a leader in inclusion training and support, to provide our team with the knowledge and tools they need to meet every child where they are. Our staff will be participating in specialized training focused on behavior supports, inclusive practices, and creating environments that reflect the dignity and value of all youth.

We’ve also joined the Widening the Circle Network at The Arc of Massachusetts, a collaborative community focused on expanding inclusive opportunities across the state. Through this network, we’ll be learning alongside other organizations, sharing resources, and staying connected to best practices in the field of inclusive youth development.

These steps are just the beginning—but they are intentional and foundational.

We’re proud to be building a Camp Fire where inclusion isn’t an initiative—it’s part of our identity.

We can’t wait to see the impact this work has on our programs, our people, and most importantly—our youth.

Each day, kids and teens are flooded with messages that tell them what they can’t do. But this week, we flipped the script. We poured on the positivity, encouraged each other out loud, and celebrated everything that makes our young people so unique and powerful.

As Mayor Jarod Nicholson so beautifully put it:

"The youth of the city of Lynn are our future, our next generation of community leaders, and we hold great pride in that. Our community is made up of bright, courageous, and determined students with great talent and drive that help shape the city we are today."

From heartfelt letters and uplifting shout-outs to creative activities focused on self-esteem and empowerment, our sites were buzzing with love and appreciation. The energy was contagious, the smiles were genuine, and the messages of encouragement were exactly what our kids deserve to hear every single day.

And to wrap up the week with a little extra sparkle, we headed to In The Game for a celebration filled with laughter, games, and unforgettable memories. Watching our young people enjoy themselves, be carefree, and simply have fun was the perfect reminder of why this work matters so much.

On November 7, 2024, the Lynn Museum and Arts Center buzzed with excitement as the Camp Fire North Shore community gathered to commemorate a remarkable milestone—75 years of empowering youth and fostering community spirit. The evening was a heartfelt tribute to the organization's enduring legacy and a testament to the unwavering support of its friends, family, donors, sponsors, and supporters.​

An Evening of Celebration

The anniversary bash was more than just a celebration; it was a reflection of the collective dedication that has propelled Camp Fire North Shore through decades of service. Attendees enjoyed hearty hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and networking. 

A Community United

CEO Laurie Hamill took the stage to share inspiring updates on the organization's progress and future aspirations. The event also featured a spirited fundraising "paddle-raise" led by Representative Dan Cahill, emphasizing the community's commitment to expanding Camp Fire North Shore's impact. The generosity displayed during the event brought the organization tantalizingly close to its ambitious goal of raising $50,000

Continuing the Legacy

The 75th-anniversary celebration was not just a look back at past achievements but a forward march toward a future filled with promise and potential. With the continued support of its community, Camp Fire North Shore is poised to light the fire within countless more young hearts in the years to come.​
