Loading or upgrading applications in the Access 1000 or 4000 ------------------------------------------------------------ Overview: --------- One or more of the following applications may be uploaded into the Access 1000/4000. 1) X.25-TCP/IP Gateway 2) Terminal-TCP/IP Server 3) Synchronous-TCP-UDP Server 4) CDR Collection Manager 5) SIP/SMDI MWI Gateway Each application has 3 types of upgrades as follows: 1) First time or replacement installation (includes default configuration) 2) Update to existing installation (no affect on existing configuration) 3) Restore default configuration The file name of each application and type is in the general format: app-v.v.v-type.tar.gz where: app => application name: x25, tsrv, ssrv, ccm, mwi v.v.v => release/version number type => install, update, defconfig For example: x25-1.1.2-install.tar.gz tsrv-1.1.2-update.tar.gz ssrv-1.1.2-defconfig.tar.gz Notes: 1) CDR Collection Manager and MWI Gateway applications require a separate customer-specific license file for each Access unit. 2) The CDR Collection Manager has additional default configurations for some of the possible collection/polling protocols: AFT, AMATPS, DCO, FTAM, MTP, XFER. The file name is as above with the replaced by the protocol name. For example: amatps-1.1.2-defconfig.tar.gz mtp-1.1.2-defconfig.tar.gz Instructions for loading: ------------------------- 1) Place file(s) on your PC where an internet browser can find them. Use caution on Windows systems that may automatically transform archive files. 2) Navigate to the Access web UI using the internet browser on your PC. 3) Select "Maintenance" item in the left-hand menu. 4) Select the "Firmware" - "Update" option to enable the "Browse..." option. 5) Click the "browse" button. A file selection window should popup. Browse the PC filesystem to locate the file(s). 6) Select the desired file, and click on the "open" button. The popup should drop. 7) Most upgrades require a system restart. If so, click on the "Restart" button. A restart may be done after multiple upgrades are done. 8) Click on the "Apply" button, and wait for the load to finish. If a restart had been selected, wait 20 seconds for the system to restart. 9) Browse back to the home page and check the application and version display.
